There are two main lock types in use for aluminium joinery hinged doors. The cylindrical and the lever lock.

Cylindrical locks: also know as key and knob sets take the form of a round handle mounted on the vision rail of the door.The

main features of these type of lock are that they are both convenient to use and inexpensive.

Lever locks: These handles offer similar locking featureswith key and snib (key on the outside and turn snib inside)

and deadlock (key inside and out) and multi point locking is available.
